Dewi Kartikawati Paramita joined the Department of Histology and Cell Biology in 2010 after completing her doctoral program at Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam Netherlands in the field of Immunovirology and Cancer. Since joining the Department of Histology and Cell Biology, Dewi has been active in teaching and learning activities including being a member of the block coordinator team, curriculum development and in the activities of several courses held in the department. In addition, Dewi is also active as a facilitator of Good Clinical Laboratory Practice (GCLP). In 2013 – 2017 Dewi was entrusted by the Faculty to be the Head of the Integrated Laboratory Development Team (LRT) FK-KMK. In 2014 – 2020 Dewi was the Chair of the Department of Histology and Cell Biology. She is currently trusted to be the research coordinator at the Department of Histology and Cell Biology, as well as the LRT Management Team of FK-KMK UGM. Current research interests are nasopharyngeal cancer in relation to the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), particularly in the use of biomarkers for the development of detection tools; tumor microenvironment. In addition, the development of biomarkers for colorectal cancer and chronic myelogenous leukemia is also Dewi’s research interest. For the field of nasopharyngeal cancer, Dewi and her team have developed a rapid detection tool for nasopharyngeal cancer, one of which has been circulating and is widely used, namely the NPC Strip G.
